West Lakes Association first craft/bake sale/chili cook-off fundraiser raised nearly $1,500. Thanks to our fundraiser committee, chaired by Jeanne Schaefer. There were 11 chili entries with entry by DeLane Scott voted Best Chili 2018.

Please pick up the Kendallville News Sun on Thursday Nov. 23 and Saturday Nov. 25 this week. They are doing two articles about our 2017 flood and aid & recovery efforts.

We are looking for help with our upcoming West Lakes fundraiser. It will be held December 2nd at 601 N Orange Street in Albion from 10-3. We need craft / bake sale donations or you can rent a space and sell your products yourself! There will be a Chili Cook-off Competition at 3p. Donations can be made by contacting Jeanne Schaefer at 260-449-5335. You could purchase a space for $50 ($30 if you have paid your West Lakes Association membership fee) and sell your crafts yourself. If you, a friend or family member would like to sell items, please contact Jeanne for details. Do people rave about your chili? We will have a fundraising booth at Kendallville's Main Street Village during the Apple Festival from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Oct. 7. We will be selling ham n' beans and cornbread! PLEASE make sure you come by! Want to help? Call Diann, 260-273-9441

5 new information centers have been installed and loaded with info. Special thanks to Bill Vanderbosch and Vanderbosch Cindy MD for making the information centers, and to Cindy, DeLane Scott and Ron Sproat for installing them. A big thanks goes out to our property owners for allowing us to set them on their property!

River Clean Up Volunteers are invited to party together at the Sylvan Cellars Tasting Room this Friday. West Lakes Association is securing the Party Bus that will depart from West Lakes Marina. The bus can run every 30 minutes beginning at 6:00 pm to and from Marina, but Sylvan Cellars needs to make arrangements. For Party Bus, please RSVP as soon as possible to Diann Scott call or text 260-273-9441. Otherwise, just show up at Sylvan Cellars! One Pulse Entertainment bands start at 8:30 pm. Food will be available for purchase before bands. Open to public.  

A lot has been accomplished this year in tree & brush removal. Thanks to all the hard work by volunteers!

Sept. 9th was the latest River Clean Up. In 2017, over 250 trees have been removed from the river.
